Service was horrible. Took 2 hours just to get our salads and the place wasn't even busy. Food was fair at best.

A nice atmosphere ruined by bad service and overpriced meals. Stopped in for lunch On the weekend & barely anyone else in the place, but basically ignored after we arrived and forgotten when served. The Farm is way better for the money.

Easily one of the worst places I have been in along time. My wife and I took the thumb road trip on our Harley's and we stopped here for lunch. Honestly we would have been better off brown bagging it. My fish sandwich was horrible. So much freezer burn on it, it was hardly edible. And the homemade potato chip, the only thing I can say is: what a joke. Over cooked and no flavor. My wife ordered the chicken tenders and paid quite a bit of money for what looked like a 4 piece chicken mc nuggets but not as much flavor. If there was a McDonald's, I would have much rather went there.

It is difficult to review this place. I LOVE the decor, atmosphere. It is like no other. But, it would be hard to really say this place is AMAZING. All for the following reasons: 1. Service. I understand this is a sleepy town and fine dining service can not be expected. But, some of the servers are SO slow and it is kind of awkward. Train your staff a bit better to know what they are serving, most of the girls seems sort of out of the loop. 2. Prices. Yes, my beef was gorgeous. But, was it worth $50? This is not Ruth Chris. All in all, this place is worth dining in. Just needs some touch ups and it would be AMAZING.

First off, what a neat old building. Our service was ok. The waitresses appear to be young girls but not seasoned waitresses. My wife and I were in Port Austin on a recent visit and decided to try this place. i had a burger. It was made of fresh meat and a fresh bun. While it was pretty tasty, it certianly wasn't the best burger i've ever had, but it also wasn't the worst. It was GOOD. I would give the place 3 1/2 stars if I could, but Yelp doesn't have that feature so I chose 4 rather than 3. I highly doubt you'd be let down by the food here, so I would definitely say it's worth trying.

The indoors retained older bank aesthetic & the outdoor patio is clean. The coffee was best in the city & out waitress, Haylee, was cute as a button & super efficient. Not your mother's greasy spoon. My burger had peanut butter on it. Strange, but delicious.

Don't be discouraged by other reviews. This place is one of the best to visit if you are looking for a place with more advanced tastes then a family dinner. The food exceeded our expectations! Everything was great, try the crab cakes. The service was friendly and never felt slow. I would recommend this place for sure.

I made a reservation. waited by the door with 5 other customers. Several staff members passed by without an explaination. Someone walked in that one of the staff recognized and was seated immediately. I thought this was rude. I live here and enjoy patronizing local merchants. I will not return here again. The bright spot was our waitress, she was pleasant and bought a round of drinks before dinner.

My blackened chicken alfredo was not black or any color resembling black. It was dripping in oil and I only ate part of my meal. It wasn't worth the big money that you spend here. It was our anniversary and the meal was ok. Would I go back NO

The worst. I one million percent recommend that you do not go here. Make a reservation at The Farm or walk in to one of the bars closer to the water. We came just before 7pm and there were open tables everywhere. We were told 15-20 min wait for our table of 4 and in 20 minutes we were told it would be another 20 minutes despite the fact that the same tables were open. They allowed us to sit at the open table but said it would be a while before anyone could help us. Thirty more minutes go by and we still haven't gotten a menu or been acknowledged by the wait staff. We actually had to go to the bar to get our own drinks and the bartender scoffed when we asked for water. A neighboring table warned us to leave and go elsewhere. They said the good was cold, they had to send it back, and that the service was atrocious. We left one hour later with out having been addressed, despite having sat in a table for 40 of those minutes.

Had lunch here last week and we were very pleased with the food, atmosphere and the service. My son had a bacon cheeseburger that he really enjoyed. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and swiss, and house made potato chips. This is not the place to go if you're trying to eat on the cheap. My family goes to Port Austin every year and we have either dined at or ordered pizza from just about every other restaurant in town. The difference between The Bank and every other place we have been is that for once I felt like the quality of the meal was worth the price. I have worked in restaurants, and there is an abundance of restaurants here at home in Novi, MI. The Bank exceeded my expectations. I will definitely go back again.

Came here for lunch on a Monday. Our server was nice. It was pretty inexpensive. The French onion soup was amazing. I got the cod sandwich. Good. The dinner menu looks impressive. I'll have to wait till next time.

We're tourists in town and noticed this place because of the amazing looking old building it's in (which is on the national historic register). I can understand when other reviewers say the help is young. But our experience was pretty good. Our sourdough bread was fantastic. All four of us had great food. No, not cheap, but we're on vacation. I destroyed my filet. They were out of whitefish and prime rib, and we were told at the hotel that they occasionally run out of things. But no biggie. Apparently the bar got backed up, and I was looking forward to a last cocktail that I finally told them to cancel, since it was time to pay up and split. Other than that, a good experience.

Fresh lake perch, tasty jumbo shrimp app, fresh crab cakes, and delicious Bloody Mary. Great and quick service! Outside patio eating area available as well.

Wanted to try this place after reading favorable reviews, however I'm very disappointed. Yes, it's a cool, old building, but when you get seated in the part of the building that was built as an extension, it loses its luster. It was hot with minimal air conditioning. The food was only ok. They messed up my order but ended up not charging me for the fries that would have been $1.25 extra (to substitute for chips). Also, the pop was flat. I wouldn't recommend this place and likely won't be back. Oh, and the service. Oh man...that was seriously awful.

Good food. Cool historic building.

We ate at The Bank our first night we went camping up by Port Austin. The food was decent but when you open the menu and see the prices you get a gut feeling to leave. We would have left if the beers didn't arrive when they did. Two beers, 3 appetizers and 3 entrees later the bill was $120 for 5 people. I had a fried shrimp dinner. 7 shrimp with waffle fries was $22. I would expect these prices in a big city but not in a small town where the grocery store is the smaller than a CVS.

We had heard great things about The Bank, and decided to go there for our anniversary. My wife and I got the prime rib and one of their special salads. There was nothing special about our meal. The prime rib was bland, the potatoes were so so and the salad was okay. They sat us up stairs and the place was really clean and the linens were nice. The server that we had was young and looked as though she had not been trained properly. It was tough to get drinks, and we had to wait forever for her to come back up stairs. We were the only people upstairs for most of our meal. I thought it was way too expensive for the product we received and maybe that was another reason for the lower rating. I had such high hopes and I felt very let down.

The building looks great, but that's just about it. The few times I have eaten there, the food wasn't great.

This restaurant is in an old bank building. seriously. how cool is that? The menu is fairly diverse. the food was phenomenal. the service was great. and the atmosphere was really cool. they close for the winter but re-open every spring.
(5)Maureen F.
Meh. Charming setting and good if you know what to order. Try the fresh perch if you are a fish fan. Be wary of ordering the specials without asking the price. I got stung on the chicken lasagna which not only wasn't to my liking, but also turned out to be about the most expensive thing offered that night.

I've been dining at The Bank for years. I love the chicken salad and melon. Had it again today and it was still delicious!!

I've tried to go to the Bank and even made reservations for our party of 20 or so last Labor Day, but the restaurant ran out of food and closed for the day without so much as a call. We all got there for our dinner reservation only to find the doors locked with a sign that they were closed. Huh.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Food was good, and the waitress was very detailed with going over everything "good" that night, and wasn't shy about saying if she wouldn't get a particular dish. Price was decent, maybe a little high for the area, but everyone liked their food. Building is very cute, and has lots of seats, with a few tables outside if that is your thing.
(4)David J.
High prices, small portions, slow service, average quality. On the plus side the building itself is very cool.
